Karthuul
Karthuul is the sun-worshipped colossus boss of the Aether, kept alive by three surrounding Sun Crystals that players must shatter to expose it.
Behavior
Karthuul is a multi-phase arena boss with 300 HP. It hovers above the battlefield and never moves on its own, repositioning only by teleporting between fixed points, and it warps away after every few attacks. It alternates between two attacks. The first is an arcing fireball that it lobs at players beyond melee range, dealing about 5 damage in a small blast and knocking targets back. The second is a barrage of seven homing sun missiles fired in a spread, each dealing roughly 10 armor-piercing damage; this is its most dangerous move, since the missiles track their targets and are hard to avoid.
The core of the fight is the ring of three Sun Crystals around the arena, each with 100 HP. While they stand, the crystals continuously heal Karthuul by about +2 HP per hit, faster than players can damage it, leaving the boss effectively invulnerable. The crystals cannot be harmed by arrows or spells, so players must close in and shatter them with melee to make Karthuul vulnerable.
Below 20% health, Karthuul enrages and forces itself back toward the center of the arena whenever it is knocked away, denying players a safe distance for the rest of the fight. It also fights alongside a Sun Follower acolyte, keeping one on the field at all times and respawning a new one every 30–60 seconds until the boss is killed.
Summoning
Karthuul is a fixed encounter waiting in its sun temple arena deep in the Aether. Stepping onto the activation trigger slams the door shut behind you with unbreakable Kalite Brick, kicks the boss music into gear, and rouses the colossus to life — but bail out or let the area unload and the whole fight resets. Once you've felled it, Karthuul can be summoned again roughly 10 minutes later by interacting with it while holding a Relic.
Drops
Karthuul always yields exactly one reward, with the loot split evenly down the middle: a 50% chance at the Sun Staff and a 50% chance at the Sun Altar.
