Giant

The Giant is a towering, slumbering guardian of the Aether mountains that hits devastatingly hard when provoked.

Behavior

The Giant is neutral and sleeps where it stands. Walking or sprinting too close (without sneaking) wakes it, and it then waits to be fed. Offer it a valued resource it likes (coal, copper, iron, gold, redstone, lapis, diamonds, emeralds, or a netherite ingot) and it will eat and turn friendly. Ignoring the woken Giant, or feeding it nothing in time, rouses it into a furious, hard-hitting rampage instead.
Once friendly, the Giant's key trick is enchanting an item with Heartbound. Hand it a single, non-stackable item and the Giant will take it, work on it, and return the item to you bearing the Heartbound enchantment. A Heartbound item can never be lost on death: it stays in your inventory when you die instead of dropping, so it is a way to safeguard a treasured tool or piece of gear. (Stackable items, already-Heartbound items, and the artifact menu cannot be enchanted.)
Beware: striking the Giant while it is holding your item makes it angry. It drops whatever it was carrying and turns hostile, so the item is returned but the enchantment is not applied.

Spawning

Giants spawn in the Aether Mountains, both underground and on lit snowy surfaces, alone or in pairs.

Drops

The Giant drops bones and leather along with Raw Gravitite and Zanite Gems, and sometimes Ancient Relics.
